NICE is part of the NHS in England and is responsible for providing national guidance on promoting good health and preventing and treating ill health. It publishes technology appraisals, clinical guidelines and public health guidance.

Judith Thornton is a pharmacist and health services researcher and has initiated and managed clinical trials, systematic reviews and economic evaluations across several therapeutic areas and with a particular interest in paediatrics.
